
Simon Davies, the CEO of Spectra Group (UK) Ltd. Spectra has a proven track record of delivering reliable, resilient, and deployable communication networks to governments around the world, elite militaries, and private companies of all sizes.
In 1981, Mr. Davies joined the British Army’s Royal Signals as an apprentice tradesman and served for 24 years with service in the UK, Germany, and Belize. From 1986 until his retirement in 2004 he served in the UK Special Forces stationed in Hereford. There as a member of the unit, he provided close support communications within UK Special Forces being employed in a variety of roles. At the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2 Mr. Davies was appointed Yeoman of Signals responsible for all forms of communications management deploying to all corners of the world on exercises and operations in support of the UK Government, NATO and Coalition Forces operating in Kuwait and Iraq.
Upon retirement from the Army in 2004, Mr. Davies used this experience and founded Spectra Group, Ltd. which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022 and whose products and services are used by some of the world’s most demanding customers in some of the world’s toughest environments.
Mr. Davies is married to Rhian Davies, the COO of Spectra. Between them they have 4 grown sons. Additionally, the Davies’s own and operate a thoroughbred racehorse breeding business, Dahlbury, of which they are very passionate about with a goal of improving the industry in Britain.
In November 2017, Simon was named Battlespace Magazine’s “Businessperson of the Year”, and the UK Crown Commercial Services named Spectra Group one of the government’s top 100 SME suppliers in 2015-2016. In 2019, Spectra’s leading tactical communications product, SlingShot, was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Innovation.
