
Sean Berg has a long and distinguished career within the special operations community, beginning in 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Shortly after graduating from the Special Forces Qualification Course, he was assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (SFG) and commanded at multiple levels including Special Forces (SF) operational detachments, SF companies and culminating with command of 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group(Airborne) in Stuttgart, Germany in 2012. During that stretch, Colonel Berg deployed to Kosovo and then performed over a dozen deployments to Iraq, West Africa, and Afghanistan. In 2015 he returned to Afghanistan with the Special Operations Joint Task Force, and then transitioned to the Indo-Pacific Command theater in 2016, commanding the 196th Infantry Brigade. He is completing his SF career at Special Operations Command Pacific, where he served in 2018 as the Operations Director and as the Deputy Commander since 2019. COL Berg is now the Owner/Manager of an Executive and Leadership Coaching firm, Roots Through the Ferns, LLC, based in Kailua, Hawai’i. He and his wife of 30 years, Ann, have three children.
