CMSgt (ret) Matt Caruso currently lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Becky and their son Ethan. Matt is Director of Business Development and Sales at Meta Special Aerospace and supports the MSA Technical Services line of capabilities, products and services. He is an active
member of the community supporting veterans and his local HOA.
In February 2019, Matt completed 33 years of service to the Air Force as the combatant command senior enlisted leader for US Transportation Command overseeing the operational readiness, force integration, and implementation of command policy and guidance across the entire joint mobility and transportation force in the Department of Defense. Prior to this, Matt was the Air Force Special Operations Command senior enlisted leader responsible for effectively advising the commander on training, supporting, organizing and equipping Air Commandos and their families globally.
His service spans a humble start in aircraft maintenance as a mechanic and then as a C-5 and C-130 flight engineer focusing in on strategic and tactical mobility, transportation, and logistics areas. Midway through his career he transferred to special operations where he operated the MC-130P Combat Shadow air-refueling aircraft platform. As a Chief Master Sergeant later in his career he served in roles as chief enlisted manager, group superintendent, wing and major command, sub-unified and combatant command senior enlisted leader positions. Matt holds an MBA in strategic
leadership and has completed and instructed many executive leadership and management courses and curriculums.
Matt culminated a distinguished career by receiving the Defense Superior Service Medal and has also received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and numerous Air Medals and Aerial Achievement Medal for excellence in aviation service. He has completed 14 assignments around the globe, including eight combat deployments and a one year deployment to Afghanistan.
