After a run of 7 years with Tyr Tactical, Chris suffered a bit of a setback due to some hereditary heart issues. Two successful heart procedures addressed the issue but the episode proved to be a sign that some changes needed to be made. As such, Chris stepped down from his position at Tyr to pursue other endeavors. Forming his own consulting company in 2022 allowed Chris to tailor his work life balance accordingly, and pursue his passion, bringing innovative kit to the warfighter. Chris utilizes his experience as a SOF Operator, Combat Developer, and Defense Industry Executive, to assist innovative small and mid-market businesses in developing products, business development, and navigating the government procurement system.
Overcoming many obstacles and sustaining numerous injuries throughout his military career, Chris’s biggest challenge was overcoming TBI, PTSD, Depression, Sleep Disorder, and chemical dependency. Having navigated both traditional and nontraditional paths to recovery, Chris is an advocate for Veteran and LEO mental health, wellness, and recovery. More specifically, finding ways to recover using the healing properties of outdoor pursuits. He and his wife Robin support various charitable causes and Chris is an active board member for the All Secure Foundation. A veteran non profit focused on reducing the stigma of seeking professional help and healing of the total family unit from PTS and TBI.
