The Director of Information Technology reports to the Chief Operating Officer. S/he is responsible for identifying the organization’s IT needs, implementing and maintaining IT solutions, adding updates and enhancements to current systems, forecasting future needs, safeguarding IT security, and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs; identify the organization’s IT requirements, needs and preferences; implement these systems/solutions accordingly
- Maintain company hardware and software programs
- Scan and evaluate the organization’s systems to find any risks, vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities; propose and recommend any new software to help the company meet its organizational goals
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
- Implement company-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees on new features
- Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems
- Control budget and report on expenditure
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
- Evaluate the company’s adherence to federal technology requirements for security
- Assist with new employee onboarding
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- Ability to manage time and work remotely
- Ability to work with a dynamic and fast-moving team
- Familiarity with Association Management Systems, Event registration systems, and other relevant SAAS applications
- Experience with both Mac and PC systems
- Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
- Strong ability to effectively communicate among and between both IT professionals and non-IT team members
